Read wolf background
information to find out the approximate age, sex and current
status of some of the wolves in the this study.
There are two ways you can track wolf telemetry data:
- Search the online Wolf Telemetry Database.
Our search engine will allow you to search for any wolf number. You can retrieve all of the data available for that wolf number and/or limit the search by date.
- Select the Wolf Number from the box below
- To retrieve all data for that Wolf, choose the "All Dates" radio button and click "Search"
- To retrieve just the records for that Wolf after a specific start date, choose the "Since" radio button, enter a start date in the date box and then click "Search"
- To retrieve records for all Wolves, select ALL in the wolf number box then click Search
- Download an up-to-date copy of the Telemetry Data
The telemetry data you can download is designed to be used with
any standard database or spreadsheet program. The file is a "tab-delimited"
text file. To use this file, follow the steps outlined below.
- Download a copy of the telemetry data file.
- Open your database software. Either open the file or import
it into your software program.
- Review fields to make sure the data has been imported correctly.
- Save your file
- By using your own database software, you will be able to efficiently
search and sort the telemetry data. Also, if you use a modem
to access the Internet, having a local file will eliminate the
need to dial-up each time you wish to evaluate the data.
If your software requires you to designate fields
before importing, create a file with the following 12 fields:
